On Saturday 28 March 2009, at 8.30PM, the London Eye will be switching off its lights for an hour. So will the Eiffel Tower in Paris. And the Sydney Opera House. Even the “24/7 on” Coca-Cola lights in Piccadilly Circus.
But why? It’s all in aid of Earth Hour, a WWF campaign to bring environmental issues, climate change in particular to more immediate attention of world leaders.
They need your help to make that impact. Pledge your support to the Earth Hour campaign, and switch off the lights in your house, business, school to show that you care.
You can also get involved by blogging about the campaign, letting your family and friends know, or even just tweet about @earthhour and let your followers know.
WWF is aiming for a billion people to take part around the world. Be a part of it.
